Group Fitness classes to get fit and keep fit

Many people find that exercising in groups is far more rewarding and motivating than going it alone. All classes at Croydon Fitness Centre are designed to provide complete fitness for all ages and fitness levels, with the perfect balance between aerobic activity and strength and flexibility exercises to get your results. The best feature of the classes is that they can be tailored to suit everyone, regardless of age, skill level or degree of fitness. So you have no excuses to trying a class today. Remember, variety is the spice of life.

Where do I start?

Read the class descriptions and choose a class that you think may be what you require, if in any doubt, talk to an instructor about what will best suit your needs. All classes cater for a wide range of fitness levels, you simply work to your own intensity and enjoy the class. Make sure you arrive early to the classes, giving you time to set up your equipment and chat to the instructor (they can give you valuable workout tips!) Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy runners, water bottles and workout towels are recommended.

Group Fitness class definitions:

BODYPUMP™: PUMP is a no-impact class designed to give your body a complete workout using barbells and weights to music. Starting with a general, all body warm-up, the class leads into working out all major muscle groups. The focus is on correct lifting techniques, the use of light weights and high repetitions which will give a well-toned and lean body in a matter of weeks. A must for all ages and fitness levels!

THE BENEFITS:

SPINNING: is a group indoor cycling class which will increase your cardio vascular fitness, strengthen and tone your legs... you'll find yourself having a great time, while you ride your way to a leaner stronger body!

X-TRAINER: Tone, shape and trim your body with a variety of aerobics, resistance and boxing moves to keep you motivated and achieving results. A fun calss designed for all fitness levels.

BOXING: the perfect class to release your frustrations while improving your muscular tone and getting a cardiovascular workout. This class is held in the boxing room using equipment such as bags, speedballs etc. A fantastic all over body workout, certainly a class not to be missed.

CARDIO BLAST: based on circuit training, this class is designed to give you a great cardiovascular workout by calling on a wide variety of muscle groups to raise your heart rate. The instructor keeps you motivated with ever changing and challenging exercises, which also promotes muscular tone and definition along with achieving maximum calorie burning effects to shed those unwanted kilos.

BODYBOXING: a class with moves and techniques developed from a range of self defence disciplines like karate, boxing and Muay-Thai just to name a few. It is fast becoming the number one martial arts workout in the world. Want to stay fit? Put your hands up? Now Punch, Kick and jab yourself to improved fitness.

PILATES: Floor based Pilates helps to build strong and functional core muscles, whilst increasing flexibility, breathing and concentration techniques. A class designed for everyone, you will be amazed at the results you get!

PRIME MOVERS: Utilising the Body Titan hydraulic equipment, this class is designed for beginners and the older members of our community. It is low impact and low intensity, and is a great way to fight the effects of ageing including osteoporosis and heart disease.

COMBO: Tone, shape and trim your body with a variety of aerobics and resistance moves to keep you motivated and achieving results. A fun class designed for all fitness levels.
